ECOFLOW to the Rescue!
Well… we’ve had another setback on the Mustang engine build. And of course, it hits right as a double-header points weekend rolls in. So here we are—no race car ready to go.
My wife’s still planning to race, so she’s taking the Kia Sorento out. At this point, a first-round loss (and some points) is still better than a no-show and zero. Gotta stay in the game.
As for me, I’m staying back home this round. No sense burning $600 in fuel just to watch a Kia make passes. I’ll use the time to knock out some work that’s been piling up while she heads down and camps in her dad’s trailer. Plus, I’m not doing so well in my recovery process, so I don’t want to push myself to be in the sun with nowhere to hide/ cool down.
I did send her down a few comforts, though—REI cots, Therm-a-Rest self-inflating pads, and some extra gear so they’re not sleeping directly on the floor. (Two adults, 53 and 77… yeah, that’s a hard pass on the floor sleeping plan.)
She also needs her CPAP at night, so I sent that along with an ECOFLOW Delta 2 to keep everything powered through the night. Temps are dropping to around 38°F, so I added a small heater just to take the edge off the cold.
If all goes well (and the Mustang rarely follows that rule), the Mustang should be wrapped up next weekend. Then we’ll get some seat time, maybe hit a closer track for a test-and-tune, not blow it up, and get it ready for Woodburn again.
I really want to make Woodburn… but I don’t see much point in going down there just to be “pit support” for the Kia this weekend.
