Bidet on Dometic RV Toilet

Warning: This is a heavily used RV, and cleaned, but we have a large Rottweiler and she likes to spread her hair everywhere! Sorry if the pics look messy!
Bottom Line: Works well after modification. Not plug-and-play. Worth it if you’re comfortable cutting plastic and running PEX.
Overview
I don’t know if this counts as a traditional gear review or a full-blown modification—but this is an honest, real-world breakdown of how I made a SAMODRA Ultra-Slim bidet work on a Dometic 300-series plastic RV toilet.
Short version: this bidet does NOT fit out of the box. With a little cutting, some creativity, and patience, it can work—and it works well.
Why This Mod Exists
I installed a bidet in the master bath of our last house. Since then, my wife became… spoiled. There was no going back.
When we moved full-time into the RV, I searched everywhere for a bidet that would fit the Dometic 300. I couldn’t find one that was confirmed compatible. So I took a chance on a budget option.
The Product

This is a basic, non-electric bidet designed for residential toilets—not RV-specific and not designed for plastic RV toilet seats.

Out-of-the-box fit: ❌ No
Fit after modification: ✅ Yes
This bidet will not mount correctly without modification to both the bidet and the toilet seat.
Installation Summary (High Level)
⚠️ This is not a step-by-step install—this is what worked for me.
Bidet Modification
Located the internal water channel to avoid cutting into it
Trimmed material from the mounting area only
Tools used: Leatherman saw (a hacksaw or cutoff wheel would be easier)
Mounting Method
Used peel-and-stick Velcro to hold the bidet in position
Velcro stabilizes the bidet when the seat is up
Final rigidity comes from the modified toilet seat when lowered
Seat Modification
Lowered seat to identify contact points
Trimmed seat just enough for clearance
Goal: maintain snug pressure to lock the bidet in place
Plumbing Setup
This was the most time-consuming part.
Water Source
Tapped into ½-inch hot water PEX line under the sink
Hot water works for us, but cold would be fine too
Shut-off valve
If you look close you can see the brass T fitting
Plumbing Components
½-inch PEX T-fitting
PEX line routed through wall beside toilet
Flexible supply line included with bidet
Inline shut-off valve at bidet connection
I originally overcomplicated this, then simplified it. The final setup is clean and serviceable.
Note: I can shut water off at the bidet, but in practice, flipping the RV water pump switch shuts everything down anyway.
Performance
Spray strength: Solid
Nozzle alignment: Good after careful positioning
Leaks: None so far
Comfort: Excellent (especially compared to dry RV toilet paper)
Once installed, it feels secure and functions exactly as intended.
Pros
Affordable
Slim profile
Dual-nozzle option
Works well after modification
Happy spouse (this matters)
Cons
Not RV-specific
Requires cutting plastic components
Not beginner-friendly
No manufacturer support for RV installs

Final Verdict
⭐ 4/5 for DIY RVers
If you’re willing to modify it, the SAMODRA Ultra-Slim bidet is a solid, low-cost upgrade for RV life. It’s not perfect, it’s not designed for this application—but it works, and it works well.
Would I do it again? Yes.
Would I recommend it without warning people about the mods? Absolutely not.
